Yesterday I had the chance to photograph a newborn baby - my first time photographing a baby.
She was three weeks old and so the shoot itself felt a little like photographing still life. She couldn't see more than 30cm in front of her, so there was no way of trying to establish eye contact or communicating at all, which was definitely a first for me. Even when photographing animals you can communicate with them to a certain extent to get them to look into the lens or move closer to you, etc. It was a fantastic experience, and I would love to do more baby photography in the future! The very first shot I took when I arrived already felt perfect and this turned into a streak that lasted the entire shoot.
The shot was to be for a local newspaper in Schleswig-Holstein, and I will probably post the article alongside when it's been published.
